Nantz named CEO of Bon Secours St. Francis

Mark Nantz St Francis CEO Mark Nantz, a veteran hospital executive and accounting professional, has been appointed chief executive officer for Bon Secours St. Francis Health System in Greenville. Nantz will begin his duties at St. Francis February 1.

Nantz comes to St. Francis from Carolinas HealthCare System, based in Charlotte, which owns and operates more than 29 hospitals in North and South Carolina. The company also manages long-term care facilities, research centers, surgery centers, home health agencies, radiation therapy facilities and other health care operations.

He earned his Masters of Health Administration from Pfeiffer University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, N.C. He is a Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina, a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Member-American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Nantz will take over from John Shea, senior vice president for sponsorship at Bon Secours Charity Heath System in New York, who is serving as interim CEO at St. Francis. Valinda Rutledge resigned as CEO of St. Francis last summer to become president and CEO of CaroMont Health System in North Carolina.

Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, a member of Bon Secours Health System, is a private, not-for-profit integrated healthcare delivery system. Under the sponsorship of Bon Secours Ministries, St. Francis has 319 beds and includes: St. Francis Hospital-Downtown, St. Francis Hospital-Eastside, St. Francis Millennium campus, the St. Francis Outpatient Center and the Upstate Surgery Center.
