At its annual meeting last week, Innovate Anderson approved their new officers for 2010 and named Greene and Co. LLP as a board-level investor in the economic development organization.
The new officers are: John Miller of AnMed Health, chairman; Butch Hughes of Independent Mail, vice chairman; Coleman Kirven of The Palmetto Bank, treasurer; and Jim Evers of AT&T, secretary.
“Some of Innovate Anderson’s goals and focus areas for 2010 will be supporting the efforts of our economic development partners, continued exploration of a potential spec building for Anderson County, establishing relationships with key investors and economic development allies, and continued growth of the CU-AMC (Clemson University Advanced Materials Center),” Miller said.
Greene and Co., an accounting firm founded in 1974 with three offices located in Anderson, Belton and Greenwood, has become a board-level investor in Innovate Anderson. Varada Ogale, partner, will be the Innovate Anderson board representative for the company.
“We at Greene and Company are very happy about our association with Innovate Anderson,” Ogale said. “Innovate Anderson is providing valuable leadership in fostering business growth in Anderson County. Such leadership and effort is much needed, especially now, during the current economic times. We are very glad to join in and support this effort.”
Mike Panasko, president of Innovate Anderson, welcomed its new board member.
“Greene and Company is a great corporate citizen and supporter of the Anderson community through its service contribution and sponsorship of charitable, business and community causes,” he said. “They have been a dedicated investor in Innovate Anderson since 2003 and we look forward to working more closely with them as a board member.”
