Larry W. Jones said today he has resigned as executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Chernoff Newman to enter an unspecified new venture.
“I will announce the details of my next venture in the coming weeks,” said Jones, who lives in Greenville and has held the position since December 2007 when Chernoff Newman merged with Advertising Service Agency, the agency he co-owned at the time.
“Even though I will miss my colleagues and the company, I am looking forward to a new challenge and to starting the next phase of my business life,” Jones said.
Chernoff Newman is a full-service advertising, public relations and marketing communications firm headquartered in Columbia.
“While at Chernoff Newman, Larry held a number of roles and responsibilities within the agency, including chief marketing officer,” said David Campbell, president and COO of Chernoff Newman. “During his tenure here, both Larry and the agency enjoyed a highly favorable reputation within the industry and we wish him great success in his future endeavors.”
Jones, who is also a member manager of the company, will be selling his shares in the company. Terms of that sale are private.
Jones was co-owner and held the position of President/COO of Advertising Service Agency for four years before merging with Chernoff Newman in 2008.
Chernoff Newman has offices in Columbia, Charleston and Pawleys Island, S.C. and Orlando, Fla.
