SCRA forms Strategic Advisory Group

SCRA has formed a Strategic Advisory Group comprising representatives of the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as large industry, small business and the venture capital investment community.

SCRA, a provider of applied research and commercialization, said in a news release that it plans to use the members’ experience and knowledge of the federal market and national security issues and requirements to assist in the execution of the agency’s long-term strategic business plan.

The SCRA Strategic Advisory Group members are:

Albert Baciocco Jr., Navy retiree

Christopher Brady, chairman and managing director of The Chart Group LP

Lawrence Farrell Jr., Air Force retiree and president of the National Defense Industrial Association

George Foresman, former undersecretary for preparedness with the Department of Homeland Security

Thomas Hash, former president of Bechtel National Inc.

Darryl Horne, chairman, president and CEO of Horne International Inc.

Timothy Keating, Navy retiree

Barry McCaffrey, Army retiree and president of BR McCaffrey Associates LLC

Charles Wilhelm, Marine Corps retiree

In May, SCRA’s Charleston office held a forum that connected dozens of entrepreneurial companies with five federal government agencies. More than 75 people attended the forum, which also introduced SC Launch company principals to senior executives at SCRA and its affiliate, ATI Corp.

SCRA has used its long-term partnerships to implement programs for multiple federal government agencies. Examples include a military e-commerce system and an ordnance technology consortium.

SCRA has developed innovations for federal and corporate clients in advanced maritime technologies, advanced materials, health care, interoperability and clean energy.
