The South Carolina Department of Transportation has scheduled a public meeting on July 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Michelin NA plant located at 1 Parkway South in Greenville. A brief presentation on the Interstate 85 construction project will be made at 5:30 p.m.
The segment of coordor between U.S. 25 in Greenville and S.C. 129 in Spartanburg will be analyzed in this study. SCDOT is seeking both potential solutions and comments to be considered as part of the analysis.
Potential solutions may include ideas in reducing the number of trips/vehicles on the interstate, encouraging and developing the use of other modes of travel, improving traffic operations and efficiencies, and developing additional traffic capacity to the interstate.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to share their ideas for improvements and comments with SCDOT. Representatives of SCDOT will be available to discuss the corridor analysis with interested members of the public on an individual basis.
The study results will be shared with the public at a future public meeting.
