Greenville-based ScanSource Inc. said today that second quarter sales are expected to range from $573 million to $583 million.
The more conservative estimate would represent a 30% increase from $441 million a year ago.
After seeing sales decline in early 2009, the technology provider has now reported several quarters of strong growth. Sales jumped 27% in the first quarter, 15% in the fourth quarter last year and 11.2% in the third.
On Thursday, ScanSource said second quarter 2010 sales beat previous expectations. The company estimated in April that second quarter sales would be in the range of $530 million to $550 million.
ScanSource reports sales estimates quickly after quarter end but does not comment on gross margin or the mix of its sales by business unit. The company will have a conference call Aug. 19 to provide final quarterly results that will include net earnings and a forecast for the following quarter.
ScanSource distributes automatic identification and data capture, point of sale, communications and electronic security products for the reseller market.
