A group aimed at growing the exporting potential of South Carolina products has added a banker and attorney in Greenville to its ranks. Aaron Zynczak, senior vice president with Carolina First, and Jay Rogers, an attorney with Womble Carlyle Sandridge and Rice PLLC are two of four recent appointments to the South Carolina District Export Council.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke made the appointments. Zynczak is experienced in international banking. Rogers has a broad legal background with expertise including U.S. and foreign customs matters and economic development incentives.
"I look forward to working with my colleagues at the S.C. District Export Council,” Rogers said. “In just the short time I've been involved with the DEC, I've been able to network with manufacturers and service providers who have a very good reading on what our state needs to make companies succeed in exporting.”
Joining Zyncza and Rogers are Tim Adams, economic development director with the South Carolina Forestry Commission, and David Boucher, president of Companion Global Healthcare.
All four will each serve three years with their terms ending in 2013 with the possibility of renewal
"We are pleased to have these four new members join the District Export Council,” said DEC chairman Jim Cox. “Each of our members provides a unique perspective on all aspects of international trade, which is exactly the DEC's purpose – to provide a voice for South Carolina exporters and engage them in international trade. I am certain that these new additions to the DEC will greatly enhance this mission.”
The SC District Export Council is this state’s component of a larger national group tasked with helping the US Commercial Service with export promotion.
