Eric Mower and Associates in Charlotte, NC., formerly held the PR contract. BooneOakley, also in Charlotte, remains the advertising agency for Bojangles’.
Based in Charlotte, Bojangles’ has about 500 restaurants in 11 states, primarily in the Southeast.
“We’re excited to have Erwin-Penland on board to help spread the word about Bojangles unique products and connections to the communities we serve,” said Randy Poindexter, Bojangles’ senior vice president of marketing. “Their prior work with Bojangles’ and demonstrated success with several other restaurant clients makes them a terrific choice to help take the Bojangles brand to the next level.”
The assignment comes on the heels of a project Erwin-Penland conducted this past spring to celebrate the opening of Bojangles’ 100th South Carolina restaurant. “Cruisin’ S.C.” was a 10-week tour of the Palmetto State that offered free Bojangles food and a chance to win one of 100 Bahamas cruises.
The tour also provided the opportunity to partner with South Carolina Future Minds’ Teacher of the Year and Teacher Appreciation Month programs that led to increased recognition of South Carolina teachers and a $10,000 charitable donation to public education.
“Bojangles’ combination of unique flavors, dedication to freshness and commitment to the community has created an almost cult-like following,” said Barry Finkelstein, Erwin-Penland’s vice president and director of public relations. “We’re looking forward to working with them to increase customer loyalty and drive new visitors as they continue to expand their presence in the Southeast and beyond.”
