Site Selection Magazine recently named Spartanburg County’s economic development organization, Economic Futures Group, as one of the top 10 economic development groups in the country.

In 2010, the group landed $1.2 billion in capital investment and 3,841 new jobs for Spartanburg area residents, according to the magazine story.

Site Selection Magazine is really the premier magazine for the economic development world, so this is really an honor,” said David Cordeau, president and CEO of the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Futures Group.

Economic Futures Group and the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce also announced Russ Weber as the new group chairman during a news conference Monday. Weber is the Integral Solutions Group CEO.

“He has been on the board. He is very active in the community and has been involved in the economic initiatives,” Cordeau said.

Economic Futures Group is the economic development organization for Spartanburg County and its municipalities. It aims to drive the international business movement in the Southeast.
