S.C. offers online payment of traffic tickets

Traffic tickets issued anywhere in South Carolina can be paid online with the Judicial Case Management System now available in each of South Carolina’s 46 counties.

The system also serves as a central online repository of state-wide court information including case status and case history.

Implemented by the S.C. Judicial Department, the system advances the efforts of Chief Justice Jean Toal to modernize the courts through technology.

Online payments can be made using a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover debit or credit card. Online payment information also is included on the back of the standard South Carolina traffic citation.

The payment processing feature uses the State of South Carolina Web portal provided by South Carolina Interactive, a Columbia-based subsidiary of NIC, and allows courts in all South Carolina counties to accept credit card payments in person at the court or around the clock over the Internet.

I was given a ticket for failing to come to a complete stop in Ridgeland, SC. I tried to pay the ticket online using my last name & the # on the ticket but it came up as a no match. Any ideas as to why this is not operative. The ticket was issued on 11/26.
