The South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association elected George B. Wolfe president for 2012-13 at the organization’s annual conference in Hilton Head this week.

“I am privileged to have the opportunity to serve the economic development community as SCEDA president,” Wolfe said. “SCEDA’s members are at the forefront of job creation in South Carolina, and I look forward to working with them to help our state move forward during the coming year.”
Wolfe succeeds Heather Simmons Jones as president. SCEDA’s annual conference is taking place this week at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort.
Since 1965, SCEDA has served as the voice of economic development in the state. A professional trade association of more than 580 members, with representation from all 46 counties, SCEDA includes local and regional economic developers, as well as officials from municipal, county and state government agencies, construction and engineering firms, utility companies, attorneys, consultants, financial institutions and higher education.
The association also announced its 2012-13 board of directors and other officers.
