Spartanburg-based Denny’s opened its first restaurant in the Dominican Republic as part of a development agreement with franchisee Grupo Nahas, which also owns hotels on the island.
Located in the food court of the Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo, the new restaurant also represents Denny’s first restaurant located at an airport.
“We’re excited to increase our international footprint here in the Dominican Republic and thrilled to be doing so in such a unique location,” said Steve Dunn, Denny’s senior vice president of global development. “Denny’s is very fortunate to work with such an experienced franchise group that also own and operate some of the most prominent hotels on the island that include the Intercontinental Hotel and Holiday Inn in Santo Domingo.”
Denny’s has 1,680 franchised, licensed, and company-owned restaurants across the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Honduras, Guam, Curacao, Puerto Rico, New Zealand and now the Dominican Republic.
