Halverson is the Children Museum’s former vice president of programs, which she served as for more than a year.

Halverson has more than 25 years of experience in education and the arts. Under her new role, Halverson will oversee museum programs, development and marketing.

“Nancy has shown great leadership in her previous role, and her hard work and dedication have been instrumental in the museum's growth and recent success. It is only natural for Nancy to take on the larger role,” said TCMU Board Chair Michelle Seaver, in a news release.

The position of senior vice president of museum advancement was created after The Children’s Museum of the Upstate board of directors decided to merge the departments of programs, development and marketing.

This is a current trend among museums across the country and was recommended by a nonprofit consultant, according to the museum’s release.

“In this new role at the museum, I hope to have even more opportunities to engage in the community and share the amazing story of all that is happening at TCMU,” Halverson said.

The Children’s Museum of the Upstate focuses on the areas of arts, humanities, sciences, health and nutrition and the environment with 18 interactive exhibits.
