The Greenville nonprofit A Child’s Haven named Debbie Roche as its new executive director.

Roche has 14 years of experience managing nonprofits and most recently served as executive director of the Community Free Clinic in Decatur, Ala. She spearheaded the startup of the clinic and supervised a team of 200-plus physicians, nurses, pharmacists and health professionals.

At A Child’s Haven, Roche will manage a staff of 48.

Founded in 1992, A Child’s Haven serves families and their children who have experienced developmental delays or behavioral challenges. Many are victims of poverty, child abuse or domestic violence.

"Debbie knows how to manage growing agencies, and has demonstrated a great balance between prudent business practices and high quality service delivery," said Landra Jennings, chair of the agency’s board of directors. "The board is thrilled to have an executive of her caliber leading A Child's Haven into the future."
