Attorney Grace Gilchrist Knie has been elected president of the Spartanburg County Bar Association.

Knie is a graduate of Columbia College and the University of South Carolina School of Law. After law school, Knie moved to Spartanburg to work as a law clerk for Circuit Court Judge James B. Stephen.

Knie has run her private law practice for the last 23 years in Spartanburg. She specializes in social security disability, personal injury and work-related injury actions.

In addition to her practice, Knie served 15 years as city prosecutor for Spartanburg. She also chaired the Spartanburg County Bar Association’s Cinderella Prom Dress Project for the last five years.

The Spartanburg County Bar Association has approximately 300 members.
