Tony Payne recently became the executive director for the Upstate division of the March of Dimes.
Payne has also held positions with the Spartanburg Regional Foundation and the American Red Cross in Spartanburg. He has served in the U.S. Marine Corps and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate and an MBA from Southern Wesleyan University.
“His leadership and experience will help us achieve our goals and continue working for healthier babies in communities throughout the state,” said Mona Carter, the March of Dimes S.C. chapter’s state director, in a news release.
The S.C. chapter of the March of Dimes invests in statewide initiatives, including research grants and local community services, to prevent birth defects and infant death; reduce the state’s premature birth rate; increase access to prenatal care; and educate health care providers and women about having healthy babies.
