Greenville-based Adex Machining Technologies said Tuesday it received a contract to supply components for new industrial gas turbines developed by Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas in Savannah.
In 2011, Mitsubishi Power completed an initial $325 million investment to open the first phase of its 116-acre Savannah Machinery Works facility to produce natural gas and steam turbines for customers in North America. The company also has a new rotor manufacturing factory under construction and is expected to employ more than 500 people when fully complete by the fall of 2013.
Adex will supply components machined from exotic metals.
“Mitsubishi is highly regarded around the world for their fuel-efficient and cleaner-emission technologies, and is a corporate role model for social and environmental sustainability,” Adex CEO Jason Premo said in a news release. “Their cutting-edge applications are an excellent fit for our advanced machining capabilities and skilled workforce, and we look forward to helping them accomplish their goals as a value-added supplier.”
Mitsubishi Power is a division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries LTD in Japan.
