Art Exhibit: Jim Harrison
What: The Spartanburg Art Museum will host an art exhibit by Jim Harrison. Harrison is known for his realistic artwork of Southern subject matter.

Greenville Rec: Turkey Trot
What: A one- or three-mile walk on the Furman University campus. This event is for adults 50 and over; snacks and door prizes will be provided.

Cost:
Free.

Guild’s Monthly Art Exhibit: Jane Nodine
What: The Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg will host member Jane Nodine’s exhibit Thermal Response. Nodine’s primary medium is encaustic wax, a mixture of wax and resin that has a history of applications dating back to ancient Egypt.
When:
Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.

Chapman Cultural Center, 200 E. St. John St., Spartanburg.

Anderson Farmers Market
What: A farmers market featuring locally grown produce, foods and flowers.

Spartanburg Art Walk
What: Visitors may visit Spartanburg galleries using a self-guided map.

The Forgotten Carols
What: Michael Young, an award-winning television producer from Los Angeles, produces this holiday musical.
When: Thursday, 7 p.m.
Where:
Henderson Auditorium, Anderson University, 316 Blvd., Anderson.

Greenville Road Warriors
What: The Greenville Road Warriors play at home Thursday and Saturday. The team will host a “Best Beard/Mustache Contest” at Thursday’s game to promote awareness of prostate cancer.
When:

Bi-Lo Center, 650 N. Academy St., Greenville.

Friday Starry Nights
What: The Roper Mountain Science Center hosts shows at the Daniel Observatory to observe the stars and planets seen through the eighth largest telescope of its kind in the nation.
When: Friday, 7 or 8:15 p.m.
Where: Roper Mountain Science Center, 402 Roper Mountain Road, Greenville.
Cost: $5 for adults; $4 for children, ages 5 to 12, and for senior citizens, age 60 and older.

Alchemy Improv Comedy
What: Alchemy Improv Comedy entertains audiences every Friday night with a different guest storyteller each week. It’s fully improvised. The early show will feature the cast of Alchemy Comedy.
When: Friday, 8 and 9:30 p.m.
Where: Coffee Underground, 1 E. Coffee St., Greenville.
Cost: $5 per person for the 8 p.m. show and $8 per person for the 9:30 p.m. show. Get tickets at the door.

Coffee and Poetry at Coffee Underground
What: Bring your own poems to read or perform. Beginners welcome. All poetry styles welcome.
