Greenville Tech Ice on Main
What:
Ice on Main returns to downtown Greenville. The outdoor rink will be open through Jan. 21. Thursday night is date night, which begins at 6 p.m. Couples can have their photo taken at the rink.
When:
Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where:
206 S. Main St., Greenville.
Cost:
$10 for adults and $8 for children, 12 and under.

Art Exhibit: Jim Harrison
What: The Spartanburg Art Museum will host an art exhibit by Jim Harrison, known for his realistic artwork of Southern subject matter.
When:
Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.
Where:
Chapman Cultural Center, 200 E. St. John St., Spartanburg.

Greenville Road Warriors’ Teddy Bear Toss
What:
The Greenville Road Warriors will host the third annual Teddy Bear Toss Night to support the Greenville U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The Greenville Road Warriors will play the Gwinnett Gladiators. Bring a teddy bear to the game and throw it on the ice after the Greenville Road Warriors score their first goal.
When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Bi-Lo Center, 605 N. Academy St., Greenville.

Friday Starry Nights
What: The Roper Mountain Science Center hosts shows at the Daniel Observatory to observe the stars and planets seen through the eighth largest telescope of its kind in the nation.
When: Friday, 7 or 8:15 p.m.
Where: Roper Mountain Science Center, 402 Roper Mountain Road, Greenville.
Cost: $5 for adults; $4 for children, ages 5 to 12, and for senior citizens, age 60 and older.

Spreading Christmas Cheer
What: Hot chocolate and apple cider will be served with music in downtown Greenville.
When:
Friday, 7 to 9:30 p.m.
Where:
Peace Center Plaza, 300 S. Main St., Greenville.

Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells
What: A funny, holiday performance based on the Junie B. Jones chapter book series.
When:
Friday, 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 1:30 p.m.

Peace Center, 300 S. Main St., Greenville.

Alchemy Improv Comedy
What: Alchemy Improv Comedy entertains audiences every Friday night with a different guest storyteller each week. It’s fully improvised. The early show will feature the cast of Alchemy Comedy.
When: Friday, 8 and 9:30 p.m.
Where: Coffee Underground, 1 E. Coffee St., Greenville.
Cost: $5 per person for the 8 p.m. show and $8 per person for the 9:30 p.m. show. Get tickets at the door.

Holiday cooking class
What: Charleston Cooks hosts a cooking class with Chef Virginia Willis from Atlanta. It will feature recipes from her cookbook, Basic to Brilliant Y’all, with a holiday twist.

Skating on the Big Ice
What:
The public can ice skate on the rink in the Bi-Lo Center.

$3 to rent skates; $7 to skate for 7 years and up; $5 to skate for 6 and under.

The Nutcracker
What: The International Ballet performs The Nutcracker.
When:
Saturday, 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 3 p.m.

The Peace Center, 300 S. Main St., Greenville.

Christmas Bazaar
What: St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church hosts this shopping bazaar. Ten percent of the proceeds will go toward the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
When:
Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where:
4180 Highway Nine, Boiling Springs.
Cost:
Free.

Teddy Bear Luncheon
What:
As part of St. Francis’ Festival of Trees, children can donate a stuffed animal for local children in need and receive a photo with Santa Claus. During lunch, Wade Hampton High School students will perform a kids’ version of The Nutcracker.
When:
Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where:
Hyatt Regency Ballroom, 220 N. Main St., Greenville.
Cost:
$15 for adults and $10 for children. Register.

Holiday Brunch
What: As part of St. Francis’ Festival of Trees, families can enjoy treats from Greenville chefs and take home a family portrait.
When:
Sunday, seatings at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Where:
Poinsett Club, 807 E. Washington St., Greenville.
Cost:
$35 for adults; $15 for kids ages 6 to 12; and free for children 5 and under. Register.

Coffee and Poetry at Coffee Underground
What: Bring your own poems to read or perform. Beginners welcome. All poetry styles welcome.
