Streetscape work to begin on North Main

A portion of North Main Street in Greenville will undergo streetscaping.

The city of Greenville is accepting bids from contractors for the project that includes streetscape improvements for around 1,700 linear feet along North Main Street between Academy Street and Stone Avenue.

The North Main Street Streetscape Improvements project includes traffic control; demolition and removal of pavement; replacing degraded infrastructure; installation of stormwater infrastructure, curbs, gutters and sidewalks; and landscaping.

The work must be completed within 60 calendar days upon award of the project.

The contractor must furnish all trees, labor, equipment and services required to complete the work. The contractor also must coordinate with utility companies and the S.C. Department of Transportation.

Bid packets containing the drawings may be obtained online or on the seventh floor of City Hall, 206 S. Main St., Greenville. Bids are due Jan. 31 by 2 p.m.
