Brothers: Non-Blood Kin Exhibition
What: Artists Brent Skidmore, Dustin Farnsworth and Timothy Maddox will present their exhibition.

Greenville Tech Ice on Main
What:
An outdoor ice rink open to the public. This is the last weekend it will be open.

$10 for adults and $8 for children, 12 and under.

Art Exhibit: Doug McAbee
What: The Spartanburg Art Museum and the Artists Guild will host an art exhibit by Doug McAbee, known for his bold colors, shiny surfaces and imagery.
When: Thursday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.

Chapman Cultural Center, 200 E. St. John St., Spartanburg.

Poetry Reading
What: A poetry reading by authors Claire Bateman of Greenville and Kathryn Kirkpatrick of Boone, N.C.
When: Thursday, 6 to 7 p.m.

Greenville Road Warriors
What:
The Greenville Road Warriors play the Gwinnett Gladiators.

MLK Diversity Banquet
What: This banquet is part of a series of events, hosted by MLK Dream Weekend. The keynote speaker is Nikki Giovanni, a world-renowned poet, writer, commentator, activist and educator.

Mountain Homes performs
What:
The Mountain Homes will perform, a Greenville sextet known for indie and folk-rock music.

Benefit for Tamassee DAR School
What:
Conservation Theory is performing with Karl Shiflette in benefit of the Tamassee DAR School in Oconee County. There will also be barbecue plates available from 4 to 6 p.m.

Talmadge Auditorium, Tamassee Campus, 1925 State Road, Tamassee.

Friday Starry Nights
What: The Roper Mountain Science Center hosts shows at the Daniel Observatory to observe the stars and planets seen through the eighth largest telescope of its kind in the nation.
When: Friday, 7 or 8:15 p.m.
Where: Roper Mountain Science Center, 402 Roper Mountain Road, Greenville.
Cost: $5 for adults; $4 for children, ages 5 to 12, and for senior citizens, age 60 and older.

Alchemy Improv Comedy
What: Alchemy Improv Comedy entertains audiences every Friday night with a different guest storyteller each week. It’s fully improvised. The early show will feature the cast of Alchemy Comedy.
When: Friday, 8 and 9:30 p.m.
Where: Coffee Underground, 1 E. Coffee St., Greenville.
Cost: $5 per person for the 8 p.m. show and $8 per person for the 9:30 p.m. show. Get tickets at the door.

MLK Community Day of Service
What: Community members can volunteer their time and service at a variety of area nonprofits. This event is part of a series of events hosted by MLK Dream Weekend in conjunction with Hands on Greenville.
