A Spartanburg hospitality management company recently developed a hotel in Greenville and has plans to develop a hotel in Spartanburg.

Pinnacle Hospitality said the design process is under way for a 100-room branded hotel at the Westgate Towncenter.

The Westgate Towncenter currently has a 126-room Hampton Inn & Suites Westgate; 88-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites; and a 37,000-square-foot event center, Summit Pointe Conference Center.

Pinnacle’s hotel development in Spartanburg will be within walking distance to the Westgate Mall, Regal Spartan 16 movie theater and numerous restaurants.

“Pinnacle Hospitality has been a proud partner of the Spartanburg CVB (Convention and Visitors Bureau) and South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association; and sees this as a great time to introduce a new lodging option to the Westgate Mall and I-26/I-85 market,” the company said in a news release.

Pinnacle recently opened Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham at 1024 Woodruff Road in Greenville. This property has more than 98 renovated rooms. Construction began in May 2012 and finished in mid-October.

This hotel is within walking distance to several restaurants and retail outlets, including Magnolia Park and the Shops at Greenridge.

Pinnacle Hospitality’s portfolio of hotels throughout the Southeast represents brands such as Intercontinental Hotel Group, Hilton Hotels, Wyndham and Marriott.
