Spartanburg medical park grows

Construction of Upstate Lung and Critical Care Specialists and South Carolina Pharmaceutical Research’s new facilities was recently completed at the North Grove Medical Park in Spartanburg.

The $3.7 million project, at 1330 Boiling Springs Road, finished this month.

The Upstate Lung and Critical Care Specialists’ 14,344-square-foot medical office building includes exam rooms, triage, radiology, associated nursing and administrative space, and a plethysmography, or body box, room.

S.C. Pharmaceutical Research’s 12,843-square-foot facility includes laboratory space, a body box room, a sleep-study area and administrative offices.

Upstate Lung and Critical Care Specialists is part of Regional HealthPlus, a contracting provider network that offers more than 500 physicians and health professionals at locations across the Upstate.

The Regional HealthPlus provider network has three hospitals and four ambulatory surgery centers in the region, according to its website.

For the new facilities, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture of Spartanburg served as the architect. Clayton Construction Co. of Spartanburg was the general contractor.

The LandArt Design Group, Don Worley, Wade Crow Engineering, Matrix Engineering Inc. and Steve Parks, all of Spartanburg, served as the project engineers.
